The ranger class of the ROV competition is designed for higher level participants. Tasks are much more complex than the navigator and scout classes. Ranger vehicles require you to have more than one camera, as well as many more attachments in order to perform the high level tasks that the ranger class requires.
Ranger vehicles also require a much more complex control system. In past years, the only thing needed to be controlled were the motors. However, in ranger, you have to control motors as well as many other auxiliary attachments, lights, and any other electrical component you have put on your vehicle.
The Sea Sweepers competed in this class for the first time in 2015 and won first place in the regional competition, which led to them going on to the international. They also competed in the international in the 2016 and placed second with BRUCE.
